What is Cyber Essentials?
A government-backed scheme developed and operated by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), Cyber Essentials is considered the best first step to a more secure network, protecting businesses from 80% of basic cyber security breaches.
Cyber Essentials Plus is a more stringent test of an organisation's cybersecurity measures, assessing its ability to protect systems and data from hacking, phishing, and other more sophisticated cyber threats.
Gaining our accreditation
To get our Cyber Essentials Plus certification, third party technical verification had to be conducted to ensure we met the full requirements of the five basic control areas:
- Access control
- Secure configuration
- Software updates
- Malware protection
- Firewalls and routers
This technical assessment was conducted by URM Consulting Services and involved a thorough vulnerability scan to test the security of our systems and processes.
URM’s assessor commented:

Following our Cyber Essentials Plus certification, we’re now listed on a directory of certified organisations operated by IASME and the NCSC.
